The tour is a leisurely walk of less than 500 feet with no stairs, making it accessible to all. After the tour, try your hand at gold panning in a gently flowing mountain creek during warm weather months, or in an underground panning tank during colder months. A gold panning lesson will be provided, along with a gold pan for you to use. Many visitors have found glimmering gold and gems while panning. You get to keep any treasures you find in both the creek and underground panning areas, making for a memorable and rewarding experience. To ensure your comfort during the tour, it is recommended to bring a light jacket or sweatshirt as the mine maintains a cool temperature of 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Water shoes are also suggested if you plan to wade into the creek for gold panning, although standing on the side is perfectly acceptable.
