Mountain Riders is offering a predawn 26-mile bike ride down Maui's dormant volcano, Haleakala. The tour begins at 5:00 am and returns at 10:00 am, providing guests with the opportunity to experience the stunning predawn colors and unique landscape of the volcano. This active adventure is a highlight for many visitors to Maui, allowing them to bike from the 6,500' elevation all the way down to Paia Bay. Guests will be transported to the 6,500' level where a tour guide will provide information about Haleakala's history, geology, and rare plants and animals. After enjoying the predawn views, guests will be fitted with a bike and helmet to begin the guided ride downhill. The journey includes riding through Haleakala Ranch, past Kula, and through the towns of Makawao and Paia before reaching the Pacific coast at Paia Bay Beach Park. Along the way, guests can enjoy beverages, snacks, and the use of a Sportswear windbreaker jacket. The bike tour is suitable for guests aged 12 and older, with a maximum weight of approximately 280lbs and a minimum height of 4' 10".
